Not Much. But Not Nothing

I have finally finished the pretty quilt for my niece (the Michael Miller Apple Fairy panel). It's just such a pretty illustration for a young lady that I couldn't resist doing it (I'm not into fairies, but the quilt isn't for me, right?).

Anyway, the next project is a wall hanging with the Deja Brew panel from Studio E. I got mine at Hancock's Fabrics (not H of Paducah, but that is a great place to shop online). I snapped a pic so as to know where blocks go, but the pattern is sort of my own. It IS inspired by a wall hanging titled Stepping Stones that I found in a recent magazine, American Patchwork and Quilting, October 2009.

Here are the boyz in a rare, quiet moment. They are pirates, from time to time (note the head scarves) and they must be ransacking this poor farmer's goods, from what I can tell.

Life is Slippery

And it got away from me for a while. Now that the household is settled we three can get on with our new routine for the next few months, sans daddy. We'll miss him dearly, but Skype makes it easy to communicate – especially when there is video too. And, if we are lucky, there may be a visit or two from him.

Fingering Fabrics For the Fun of It

I am far behind in knowing what's new in fabric, but enjoying catching up. Here is a view of some ½ yard cuts I ordered online with FabricWorm. This week has been full of flipping through library books for cute bags, felted gifts and the like. I'm searching for something, but have not found it yet.

Friday's Money is No Object:

A new sewing machine like this one (link). And a cabinet to work in! (link) I've managed to spill out of the room I work in (hey, it IS small) and onto the dining table. The side pantry is getting a small dose of fabric stash!

Here is a view of the pj bottoms that I downloaded from SewingPatterns.com. They came out a wee bit Large for our 3 year old. It'll take some revision, but I am keeping in mind growth spurts and fixing the hem to be adjustable.
